I did the only sensible thing and disabled automatic updates on my two Windows 10 laptops. Microsoft’s belated foray into the world of CI/CD for releasing Windows patches suffers from limited automated testing.
As you might’ve noticed, the slew of recent defective patches from Microsoft primarily breaks visual elements of Windows and affects performance on an irregular basis.
Problems like these are difficult to detect in a usual headless automated testing environment. Screen turning red, empty search results window, the search UI service on occasion taking over the CPU, and a few other similar issues.
Until Microsoft supplements it’s automated testing with an adequate number of human eyes, I would stay away from any further “fixes”, hackers be damned.
